Drumkit masterclass , Saturday 29th September 2007

This interactive masterclass is taken by drummer Cheryl Alleyne, who has been playing the drum kit for over 25 years and has worked with the likes of 'The Jazz Warriors', 'Loose Tubes', 'Us3' and Courtney Pine, to name a few. She has also played in many countries around the globe.

The aspects of drumming covered are:

1. Holding down a basic groove/beat.
2. Playing along with the bass .
3. An introduction to Jazz, Calypso, Latin and Reggae beats.
4. An introduction to some odd time signatures: 3/4, 5/4, 7/4.
