Tailored Teaching

Real one-to-one teaching

Every lesson is tailored to you, not just followed from a syllabus. Our tutors get to know how you learn, what you love playing, and where you want to go, whether that's picking up your first beat or mastering a piece you've always wanted to play.

Why Planet drum is different

1-to-1 lessons, tailored to you

Every lesson is personal. Drums, singing, piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, music production, songwriting, whatever you're learning, your teacher builds the lessons around your goals, your level and the music you actually want to play.

A real music community

Twice a year, our students perform in our seasonal concerts alongside the in-house Planet drum band. Concert rehearsals are free and included in every membership, so you're not just learning, you're playing with other musicians from week one.

Practice rooms, free with every membership

Our North London practice rooms are open seven days a week. Every membership includes a free off-peak slot every month, so you can put the work in between lessons without buying a kit for your flat.

Quick Answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own drum kit to start?▼

No. Every studio has two full kits, and your membership includes a free off-peak practice slot each month so you can keep playing between lessons without buying gear.

How close are you to Highbury & Islington station?▼

Four minutes on foot. Step out of the station, head down Holloway Road, and you'll see St Mary Magdalene Church.

Can adult beginners really start from scratch here?▼

Yes, about half of our adult students do. Every lesson is one-to-one and tailored to where you're starting from, so there's no class to keep up with and no embarrassment if you've never picked up an instrument.
