We provide affordable one-to-one music lessons and courses for adults and children. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced student looking to take your playing to the next level, we have a course that's right for you.
Beginner If you're a complete beginner:

Intermediate If you've played before:
We'll assess your technique and will help you improve it in our one-to-one sessions
We'll help you work on developing confidence in playing with others
Experienced You have long-term playing experience:
We'll help you develop a better sound, feel and sense of rhythm
We'll help you develop your stylistic knowledge and technique
We'll get you ready for life as a musician by sharing our best tips with you
Get started with a taster lesson to give you the opportunity to meet us and experience how we teach. After your taster, you can enrol on any one of our music memberships.
Standard child membership - One-to-one tuition: 4 x 25-minute lessons, one free band practice session, one free off-peak practice session and optional Trinity Arts Awards participation £27 per lesson
Standard child membership - One-to-two tuition: Same structure as above Share the lessons with a friend £38 per lesson
Compact membership - One-to-one tuition: 2 x 50-minute lessons, one free band practice and one free off-peak practice session £49 per lesson
Compact membership - One-to-two tuition: Same as above but share the lessons with a friend £65 per lesson

Terms and Conditions
Commit to a minimum of three months of study on the course of your choice**. Pay your monthly fee on the first of each month. Attend your lessons at the agreed day and time. When your teacher is away, we will always find a replacement teacher to provide your lesson. Free practice allowance is valid for that month only and any unused allowance cannot be rolled over to the next month. Cancellations
Cancellations within 24 hours: face to face lessons can still be changed to online lessons, or the full price of the lesson will be charged, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Please inform the office as soon as you know that you cannot attend the scheduled class.
Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice: we will reschedule your lesson to make sure you get the right number of lessons included in your membership. The rescheduled class must be covered in the same month or another mutually convenient day and time in the same month.
Holidays
Planet drum is open all year round (excluding bank holiday Mondays and Christmas, 24th December to the 2nd of January). If your child is not attending lessons during the holidays, please let us know so we can inform your teacher.
Pausing lessons
Please give us one month's notice if you decide to pause lessons for any reason.
** Vouchers are available for short-term options. *** If you give us less than 48 hours notice, you will be charged for the lesson. If you cancel within the 48 hour notice period we can reschedule your lesson for you.
