Rockschool's Music Production graded syllabus is a hands-on course which covers professional scenarios, theory and listening skills through a combination of coursework and assessments. You'll gain a practical understanding of audio music production, including a working knowledge of digital audio workstations and recording equipment.
At grade 1, you'll learn how to get prepared for working with an artist, and work out how to compose ‘guide’ or ‘ghost’ tracks which will give another musician an idea of what sound you want to produce.
By the time you get to Grade 8, you'll be able to specialise in a particular genre. As an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producer, you might take a track that a singer has recorded with their phone and turn it into a full-scale dance track. You'll have learnt how to use all kinds of techniques and skills to be able to really bring an initial idea to life.
