Learn wherever you are in the world with our online music lessons
Start learning a new instrument from your own home - or continue your usual private studio lessons online. Suitable for all levels, our one-to-one Zoom and Skype lessons are ideal if you live far away or overseas, or can't get to our Islington studios for whatever reason. Choose from drums, piano, singing, guitar, ukulele, bass, violin, songwriting or music production.
If you've never learned an instrument with us before, you'll start your online course with a taster lesson. We'll be able to meet each other (virtually), try out some technique exercises and talk about what you want to get out of your lessons before you enrol.
Learn at your own leisure with our interactive recorded lessons
We have been working hard to bring you the best online and interactive content with our new Recorded Lessons. We now offer a great pre-recorded lesson option for all Planet drum students as well as our usual online lessons. The recorded lessons are personalised interactive video lessons between your tutor and yourself. This is how it works:
Step one: Your teacher sends you a personalized video of your homework
Step two: Watch your video and practice the exercises
Step three: Send your teacher a video of your practice.
Recorded lessons are ideal for most people, as you can learn at your own leisure. You can replay them as many times as you like, and go back to past lessons when needed. Get in contact with a member of our team today to get started!
What is the difference between online and recorded lessons?
Online lessons are LIVE lessons via Skype or Zoom with one of our top music tutors. The recorded lessons are personalised interactive video lessons sent to you by your tutor to watch and learn at your convenience.
Do I need to buy any special equipment for my online lessons?
No - if you're only doing online lessons while you can't come into the studio, you'll just need a laptop or tablet with an Internet connection and a built-in camera. If you live far away and you want to do online lessons with us on a more long-term basis, it's a good idea to invest in a few pieces of equipment - we're more than happy to send you a list of what would be most useful.
Will my teacher see me during the online lessons?
Yes. This is why it's really important that you're using a laptop or tablet with a camera, so your teacher can see what you're doing. The lessons are taught live and one-to-one, so they're entirely personalised to you. You'll be able to interact with your teacher in real time, ask questions and receive feedback and corrections.
I live overseas - what about the time difference?
Our teaching hours are 2pm-10pm from Monday to Friday and 10am-6pm on weekends, UK time. Depending on where you live, we'll work out the best time for your online lesson.
